READING
INTERVENTION
For some beginning readers, classroom reading instruction is not enough, it has been well documented that children who encounter difficulty in learning to read do not outgrow their problems and fall farther and farther behind their peers over time. A growing body of research has shown that reading problems are preventable if at-risk students receive appropriate extra support in the form of early intervention. Research evidence has demonstrated that these at-risk students achieve positive reading growth through explicit instruction integrated with continuous practice in applying reading and writing skills with decodable text.
SRA Early Interventions in Reading identifies at-risk children and provides the critical content and clear instruction needed to transform a struggling reader into a skilled reader.
